Drol Egder is the last of his family line, the inheritor of a dark and tragic existence. He was raised by surrogate parents just outside of Willownest, never having met his own progenitors.

His adoptive parents never told him anything of his family, but he learned it well enough as he grew up, accustomed to fearful looks and whispered conversations wherever he went.

It didn't take long for him to learn that the Eder family was the inheritor of a powerful curse. It was said that all those who an Eder cared about would be taken from them, and that they were destined to be the lone survivors of many a tragedy.

It would appear, unfortunately, that they were right..

Drol's surrogate parents died when he was only 6 years old, and with none else willing to take him in for fear of the curse, he had to learn from then on to fend for himself. Drol has accepted this curse as a part of himself, and has vowed that it will find no more victims. As the last of his bloodyine, so long as he stays aloof and keeps his feelings in check, the curse will die with him, and none will suffer for it again.

Drol left Willownest years ago, never intending to return.

He joined the Dragon Trapper's Lodge to hone his skills and make a suitable living, gaining a reputation for his brooding silence. Other trappers soon learned to avoid him, for in the few moments he did speak, his tongue was as sharp as his blades.

He now returns to his home, finding much of what he once. knew changed and endangered. He knows that here of all places, he must keep his emotions in check. As he has told himself again and again - he will feel no sorrow for those who turned him away, no sympathy for those who now suffer, and no anger towards those responsible for their suffering. This is just another job, and it will be better for everyone if, at least in his own mind, it stays that way. After all, nothing could jeopardize this mission more than for Drol to give in to the stifled but stirring emotions in his heart...
