Mire Banneret - Mire Volktoads

The Volktoad of the Mire are but a splinter of a larger group that broke off and decided to travel beyond the mire. Those who remained quickly built a fortress using the crater from the explosion that brought them to Eluan. The fortress is known as the “Spiked Egg,” not only because of its oval shape but also because of the hundreds of logs that were placed around the circumference, all of them sharpened like massive stakes to stop any assault. The inside of the fortress is divided into living quarters, barracks, a prison area, and a temple where, Ciocan, “Mire Prince,” resides and preaches to his people. The volktoad society is simple; their only aim is to expand their numbers and to ensure their permanence in Eluan. Because all of them require a constant and big supply of brains , they constantly send war parties to neighboring settlements to take every one alive as prisoners who will suffer a fate worse than death without a doubt. The captured individuals are returned to the Spiked Egg and put in large cages as their fate is decided.
